The leaning lamp is the result of some experimenting and playful wood-shop work. I've always liked the idea that the least amount of material can lead to an interesting or exciting piece of furniture. This lamp is designed to feel as if its about to fall, almost like its balancing on its "toes." The lamp is comprised of four pieces: the base legs, spine, neck (all made from wood), and an electric lamp. The falling action of the lamp is actually what holds it together. Instead of using hardware, the legs notch to the spine by applying a pinching pressure as gravity pulls them down. The only piece of hardware is a single screw holding the neck in place.
