A presentation of my design philosophy and process: using design as a tool to solve non-design problems. I highlighted eight projects through the lens of problem-making and problem-solving. Additionally, I discussed my career transition from architecture to design and some of the challenges and overlaps that I encountered along the way. This was originally presented as a design lecture at Iowa State.
Design can be a great way to solve problems - even if they aren't explicitly design problems. In this huddle, I discuss a simple way to assure you are bringing meaning to your work using a basic formula. Then, using one of my projects, I show how the formula can be applied to help think-through, and effectively respond to a prompt, challenge, or design problem you might be facing.
Fonts & Feelings is a fast-paced presentation about the relationship between fonts and the emotions, connotations, and impressions that they have left on culture, or that culture has left on them. Its a fun, light-hearted glimpse into the world of typography. This was originally presented as a Huddle at Remesh.
